Personalized ornaments make the best gifts!

Christmas is getting closer and closer and soon people will be scrambling to get in there last minute shopping before the big day. One gift that I absolutely love to give and also to receive are Christmas Ornaments. They are simple, will not break your budget and have so much meaning behind them believe it or not! They make ornaments for every memorable occasion you can think of.

Even my own family practices this yearly ritual. Each year we will find an ornament that somehow relates to the person we are giving it too. There are unlimited possibilities! This activity is great for kids too! By the time they graduate high school and are looking for colleges and places of their own, they will have acquired a good amount of ornaments for their own Christmas Trees!

Here are a few excellent ideas for ornaments you can pick out for you family!

Get ready for fall with these Thanksgiving Decorations

Thanksgiving happens to be one of my favorite holidays along with Christmas. Spending time with family and friends gathered around a huge table full of delicious home cooked meals is a favorite past time from my childhood. Somewhere along the line, preferably before the turkey is in the oven and you are preparing those warm mouth watering pumpkin and pecan pies for your family, you have to semi-decorate the place. If it is just family and friends you don’t really have to go all out, but it definitely is gorgeous to see a festively decorated house.

Top 10 Stocking Stuffers for Teens

Admit it, Shopping for teenagers can sometimes be a difficult task. Fashions change, phases are no longer “cool” and what was amazing 2 weeks ago is now so “uncool”. This can leave some parents struggling to find last minute replacement gifts after they over hear their kids talking on the phone about how “Brad Pitt just doesn’t cut it anymore and now Johnny Depp is going to be the new addition to their overly postered wall!” Sound familiar? So much for that 3 Dvd pack of Meet Joe Black, Mr & Mrs Smith and Fight Club designed especially with Brad Pitt Lovers Packaging! It’s depressing I know, however unfortunately true. Teens go through phases as much as they change their underwear, which I hope is daily!

Halloween Decorations and Party Stuff

The modern holiday of Halloween has its origins in the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain. The festival of Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest season in Gaelic culture, and is sometimes regarded as the “Celtic New Year”. Traditionally, the festival was a time used by the ancient pagans to take stock of supplies and slaughter livestock for winter stores.

The ancient Gaels believed that on October 31, now known as Halloween, the boundary between the alive and the deceased dissolved, and the dead become dangerous for the living by causing problems such as sickness or damaged crops. The festivals would frequently involve bonfires, where the bones of slaughtered livestock were thrown. Costumes and masks were also worn at the festivals in an attempt to mimic the evil spirits or placate them.

This is fascinating I know! I’ve put together some great stuff that is definitely a must at any Halloween Shindigg.
