Top 10 Stocking Stuffers for Teens
Admit it, Shopping for teenagers can sometimes be a difficult task. Fashions change, phases are no longer “cool” and what was amazing 2 weeks ago is now so “uncool”. This can leave some parents struggling to find last minute replacement gifts after they over hear their kids talking on the phone about how “Brad Pitt just doesn’t cut it anymore and now Johnny Depp is going to be the new addition to their overly postered wall!” Sound familiar? So much for that 3 Dvd pack of Meet Joe Black, Mr & Mrs Smith and Fight Club designed especially with Brad Pitt Lovers Packaging! It’s depressing I know, however unfortunately true. Teens go through phases as much as they change their underwear, which I hope is daily!
I’ve tried to put together a list of things that are completely awesome and useful, but are not going to be in the goodwill bag a month later. One thing I would suggest, maybe stay away from things that are definitely phases. For example an unnatural obsession with everything “Pirates of the Caribbean” because it just came out, will probably be quickly phased out with a new movie 2 months later. I’m sure you get the idea.
10. The Beat Buckle
A belt buckle that is designed to hold Ipod. It is compatible with the iPod Nano (1st and 2nd generation), iPod Video (5th generation 30gb, 60gb, 80gb) and the iPod Classic. The iPod is still fully usable inside the BeatBuckle. Although their “favorite” bands will probably change, their love for music will not!
9. DIY Duct Tape Wallet Kit
Duct tape wallets are definitely a mainstream gift and something that is oddly sweeping the nation as unusually cool! Now I can possibly see this as being a fad type gift but the cool thing about this is you get to make the duct tape wallet yourself, and the kit comes with multiple sheets of different colors allowing teens to “customize” it. As you can see on the picture above, the little white skulls are actually made from duct tape and were cut out with an exacto knife.
8. Splat Stan Coaster
My mom used to always get on my back about using coasters on the coffee table. I don’t think I ever would have forgot to use them, if there was a coaster this funny laying around. Perfect as a gag gift for teens! You can attach a sticky note to it saying “Now I know you will NEVER FORGET AGAIN!”
7. Closed-Hood Car Jump Starter
Chances are your teenagers are already driving or not far from it. This is a perfect gift that if they happen to need it, will definitely thank you for getting it for them. Who wants to fiddle around underneath the hood and carry around huge jumper cables that take up all of your trunk space? I definitely do not! This will jump start your car via the cigarette lighters! It does take 5-10 minutes charge time, but that’s about how long it takes to get the damn things connected to the battery anyways. Once charged the green light will light up letting you know it is ready! This also comes with 18 feet of cord to ensure the vehicles do not have to be close together! This is a
little large, it will fit in a stocking but will take up a good portion of space.
6. Skeleton Rubber Key Covers
Now you don’t have to get these particular Skeleton Key Holders for your teens, unless it is something they would like. But you can do a search online for “key covers” endless results come up and you can find something that would fit their style! They are definitely something fun and practical. The ones in the picture eve glow in the dark! I need to get some of these for myself. I don’t know how many times I’ve tried to unlock my front door with the mailbox key…
5. Money Soap
How about a delightfully scented bar of soap that has a surprise in the center–cold cash! Once the soap wears down, you capture your prize–guaranteed to be one of the following: a real $1, $5, $10, $20, or even a $50 bill! If anything, if your teenager is a couch potato or gamer who just can’t leave that “comfortable” bean bag chair, this might be an incentive!
4. Dart Coat Hooks
As long as you don’t mind your teens having these in their wall, they make an excellent gift! Maybe they will even begin to hang up their coats! Then again maybe not because they are pretty cool looking. Either way it’s worth a shot, plus they will love them! It is a set of three Stainless steel darts with a special wall fixing.
3. Shower Sponge Mic
I don’t know if it’s just me, but it seems like every teenager is “In a band” or “Starting a band”. One of the two. Now you can support them by helping your teens practice in the shower! Practice makes perfect right? Plus it still doubles as a stylish sponge!
2. Tiki Pencil Toppers
Make high school a little more exciting by picking up assorted pencil toppers. You can find them for all kinds of things. On amazon I found Little devil rubber duckies, Pirate Skulls, Meat Toppers, Sushi Toppers, Budda and even Jesus himself!
1. Tic Tac Toe Toast
Finally the #1 gift that will make your teens happy… allowing them to PLAY with their food! This is a stamp that you press on your toast and then you put it into the toaster and it turns out like the picture!
