So this “high-quality” metal tree is basically a black stick with some bronze paint splattered on it. You get six little frames that look like they’re from a dollar store and a green ribbon that’s probably going to fray. They call it a “family tree” but it’s just a random twig with photo slots. You can use it to display your “beloved” family photos or whatever random knick-knacks you’ve got lying around. It’s perfect for “funky” or “classic” events, which basically translates to “we’re trying to make this sound fancy but it’s just a tree with frames.” And the best part? It’s the ideal gift for anyone who wants to feel like they’re living in a 1990s time capsule.

I was SO EXCITED to get this! I purchased extra frames, I printed out the pictures weeks ago, I was READY!!
The item arrived in a box that looked a little beat up, I opened it and almost burst into tears.
So much was wrong!
1. The obvious – this has been a return! Some of the frames were in plastic envelopes, others were not. The tree itself was misshapen, with a broken branch, half in and half of of the plastic. Held down with packing tape!
2. I expected it to be 3D, you know, some depth to it. It came with a stand and all, but it was completely flat (except where the previous owner obviously had the same thoughts and tried to move the branches)! It may a well have been a picture.
Devastation!
Obviously returned, cos, you know, I’m not paying $45 for someone else’s reject, but also because it broke my heart.

I received this for a gift. I used it to put a picture of all of the doggies past and present. I did have to trim the wallet size photos a bit to fit them into the frame but they look so cute. The reason I gave this a 4 is that I feel the base could be a little heavier. Overall, this is really cute and you can adjust the pictures and hang them anywhere you choose.

I was hesitant when purchasing based on the reviews, but loved the idea for a Christmas gift. This is also my first time writing a review…felt it was needed on this product. Packaging was fine, product came undamaged and secure when opening. As a matter of fact, it was quite difficult to get the frames out without unwrapping the rest of the packaging. (I filled the frames as part of the gift) I love how the tree looked and could view it clearly while still in packaging. I have no comment on stability as I did not assemble, but it looks as though it could be a little flimsy, but with that being said it is a picture frame that is intended to be looked at not played with. The frames themselves are wallet size pictures. Be careful when ordering that the main body of the picture is cropped to the middle. The website I used for ordering even warned about this, as they are automatically cropped and should be reviewed before ordering. My only real complaint for this product is the extra frames I ordered came with brown hanging ribbon while the ones that originally came with it had black…this also could have been operator error. (Not exactly sure)
Hope this helps anyone looking to purchase.

I got this tree for my mom for her birthday to set on the mantle above the fireplace. I loved that the picture frames weren’t huge, I found that wallet sized pictures worked perfectly here. Pictures are easy to put in place and my mom absolutely loves the tree. She loves that it is sturdy and that she has a nice way to display pictures of her loved ones.

Starting this past Memorial Day weekend, I’ve been busy catching up on review projects that have been on my “to do list” for over a year now! My latest is one of my favorite items, and now I think I have a great Father’s Day gift this year!
The Klikel Family Tree Picture Frame Display is a beautiful, well-made display that you can customize with up to 10 small hanging picture frames holding copies of your family photos. As you can see below, the tree is SUBSTANTIAL … 20 inches high and 18 inches across with a brushed bronze finish and bronze leaves. I ordered this product on Amazon and with my Amazon Prime membership I was able to receive it in just two days!
My Product/Service Review Criteria
Most of my followers know a few things about the genealogy and family history related products that I review and recommend:
– I prefer to purchase the products myself rather than accept a free product or service for review purposes. And if I do accept a product from a vendor, if possible I will donate it to a genealogical or historical society for a door prize at a future event.
– I always disclose at the end of a review whether or not the product or service was given to me for free.
– I am a shrewd shopper and raised by a single mother who could squeeze a penny until Lincoln screamed out in pain. Mom always said “you buy cheap, you pay twice.”
– While I realize the current trend is to get the absolute cheapest price for an item, even if it is a “knockoff” I scour the reviews for Amazon products and try to determine if there are lots of “fake reviews.” I also factor in where the vendor is based, where the product is manufactured, etc. So while you may see other “family tree photo display” products on Amazon at a cheaper price, I only review a product that I would feel comfortable having in my own home or giving as a gift.
Here’s what I LOVE about the Klikel Family Tree Picture Frame Display
– This is a solid, large, and heavy item. It makes a stunning display in an entryway or in one’s own genealogy cave and serves as a good backdrop for those Zoom webinars!
– The hanging frames are easy to use: the back slides out easily and the current photo can be replaced with one of our own.
– Hanging the frames can be tricky but this is the fun part, if you ask me. You can hang them almost anywhere … off of the bronze leaves, on the curled tree branches, and more.
– This is an AMAZING GIFT! Imagine customizing this family tree display as a Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or even Grandparent’s Day gift. Or for a Wedding Anniversary you can use photos of the happy couple’s wedding. And for a birthday gift make sure you have a variety of family photos for the birthday person … including the embarrassing ones!
Tips on Customizing your Klikel Family Tree Picture Frame Display
These are my tips and tricks for customizing the Klikel Family Tree Picture Frame Display:
– Never use original family photos and cut them to size UNLESS you are working with duplicate photos.
– I used the digitized version of my family photos and ran them through a photo processing platform like MyHeritage Photo Tools in order to enhance and improve the quality of the photo.
– For this display, I wanted all photos to be in black and white format so I used Microsoft Photos to handle the formatting.
– The frame size is 3 inches tall and 2.2 inches across; the photo opening is 2.4 inches tall and 1.4 inches across.
– Here’s how I printed the photos the correct size for inserting into the frames: I created a Microsoft Word document and used Insert, Image for each image. Then I clicked on each image and set the dimensions to 2.8 inches tall and 2 inches across. Once printed, I used scissors to cut out each image then inserted them into the hanging frames.
– For now, I decided to print the images on regular paper. I may want to do a version on photo paper but I know it will use a lot of ink. I will probably have the document printed on photo paper at a local CVS or Walgreens or even FedEx Office (formerly Kinko’s). This is more cost effective and doesn’t eat through my printer ink.
– When trying to hang the frames, you can try to create a hierarchical display with you on the lowest level, your parents, your grandparents, but to be honest you’ll have to spend a lot of time just getting it right. I didn’t bother with any “order” when hanging my frames … I just placed them where I thought they looked best.
Conclusion
I highly recommend the Klikel Family Tree Picture Frame Display as a way to display and share your genealogy/family history research. This is a beautiful decorative item that is easy to customize and it can also start a conversation about family history when your family members come to visit. Also consider this display as a gift and make sure you leave at least a few days to customize it once it arrives.
