The handle is tightly woven cotton, is strong and the bag is bigger than I expected. It will hold a lot of gifts I am filling it with for my sister who is retiring soon.

Perfect strong, sturdy, beautiful tote! It fit all my retirement gifts in a useful affordable bag! The strap was soft and comfortable to hold in hand or on shoulder and the durable canvas was thick like the more expensive brands.
