The wind chimes arrive in a nice matte black presentation box. Since these are a gift to myself I ordered the ones without inscription. The striker dangled freely down against the wind catcher. It took me a minute to locate the small plastic adjustable pin on the underside to move it up to within striking distance of the tubes. A note inside the box would have been helpful. The tubes are a smooth powder finish black. They are nicely tuned and melodic neither tinkly nor deep and loud. I’ve wanted a set of melodic chimes for a long time but was concerned about annoying my neighbors. I don’t think that they will be able to hear these. I am really enjoying them.

These look great, sound great, and as an added bonus include an adjustable SLIDING knocker so that the chimes can be silenced if needed.
They come in a nice plain black box that would be great as a retirement gift. The chimes themselves are black with a baked-on kind of finish that looks like it will stand up to a decent amount of weather exposure. The wood suspension part at the top needed a bit of adjustment to get the strings all settled evenly, but that wasn’t very difficult. The middle wood “knocker” part of the chimes comes with an adjustable string stop that you can squeeze to allow you to move the knocker up or down on the middle suspension string. This allows you to move it completely out of the area where it would hit the chimes, and make it silent, even if you don’t take it down from where it’s hanging. I don’t know how long the piece that makes it adjustable will last, though. It’s one of those plastic quick tighten things you squeeze with a spring inside it that essentially “grabs” the string with tension after you release it.
The retirement “message” was very generic, so it could be used for any gender designation. The lettering was crisp and the wood was a dark walnut type coloring. Very classy.
The tone of these isn’t high-pitched. More mid-range tones. I like these, as the high-pitched ones sound very tinny or piercing to me.
The hook at the top could use some love. It’s very generic and may have issues with the chimes getting knocked off your chosen mount in high-wind situations or heavy weather. I would suggest changing it out for a hook that can be secured with a “gate”, maybe. I used a small double S carabiner that I have half a million of. It’s not going anywhere soon.
We’ll see how it stands up to the heat and rain here in Southern Texas. I’ll update if it falls apart within a year. I probably won’t if it stands longer than that. I can always replace the thread/rope with new if it does degrade. I doubt the chime pipes or the wood will degrade before the rope does.
If your soon-to-be-retiree likes wind chimes… so far, these are really good for the price.

Exactly as described & photographed BUT BETTER! The sounds these wind chimes make is really Heavenly! I am SO GLAD I ordered these chimes! They are so much better in person! The craftsmanship is obvious!
These are extremely stylish & they are an incredible value at this price!
These are perfect for so many locations but I think a big wooden porch with rocking chairs is where these chimes belong! The Hummingbirds will have to check these out!

For the price, the wind chimes are good value. The wording is legible on a beautiful piece of finished wood. The sound of the chimes is pleasant, not too loud, not too soft. It comes easily out of the black box with no tangles in the cording, ready to hang.

A lovely set for our "chimes" tree—a big magnolia where we suspend our collection of wind chimes. Occasionally a gust of wind will come around the corner of the house and make the tree sing.

The tubes are sturdy and have a lovely bell tone. The maple leaf banger is a nice touch. Very sturdy, even at a little smaller than anticipated. A great addition to the collection and it’s a 5 for us.

The wind chimes will make a perfect gift for someone retiring. Nicely made. Does not feel or look cheap. I love the maple leaf and the sentiment! I like the tone and melody the chime plays as well. The wind chimes hung evenly and were easy to adjust. My only complaint is the box arrived very dirty and one corner was damaged as well as scratches and a puncture mark on the top. I am not sure where the damage occurred but would suggest to the seller to provide a protective wrap of some kind around box when shipping. Gifts should be nice including the box it comes in. This is the only reason I took off one star. I am sure all boxes they ship out are not like this one but it is a potential disappointment for someone giving the wind chimes as a gift. Otherwise, the wind chimes are beautiful! I would not hesitate to buy again.

These are beautiful wind chimes and would make a wonderful gift. The wood is quality and pretty. It is not super light but not too heavy. It has a nice sound and currently hangs inside the entry way until we get warm weather. Perfect for a front porch, very elegant. It came packaged nicely as well, easy to wrap or gift bag for someone.

Perfect for noise overload that you cannot avoid – having this kind of soft bell sounds is a great way for relief. Nicely packed and well designed, should last without rusting I hope! Also, a good gift idea for almost any adult occasion. Need a little bit of work to hang but not too difficult.
