I originally bought this product as a gift for a friend. I was so thrilled with the apparent quality of the Starter Kit that I decided to purchase a second one for myself. The kit contains everything you require to get started. The instruction booklet inside was most informative with clear instructions. The seeds provided were of a good quality (not a single one floated after a 24hr soak!). I have just finished sowing the seeds in the pots & compost provided and am now looking forward to seedlings appearing in the next few weeks.

This kit is pretty good. I have 6 separate buds so far, 5 of the Pinus Aristata and 1 Picea Aries and it has only been 1.5 weeks since planting. The sellers are also very nice and email you asking you if you need help with anything. Unlike most plant growing kits this kit did not look like it was old and had been sitting on a shelf for a long time.
The only problem with the kit is I think for a beginner the instruction booklet is not detailed enough. I would recommend to the sellers that you upload videos on youtube of each step of the sowing process. This will give you more income(youtube ads), help your customers out, and make your product better, resulting in more sales too.

Specifically these are tips I have for others:
1) Careful when opening the seed vials, the lids pop open rather forcefully (as in don't let your seeds go flying lol)
2) Read the instructions carefully. They seem to be the same for every seed but they actually aren't and I noticed one of the differences a bit too late (for the really big species you are supposed to cut the tip off before soaking it says)
3) DEFINITELY watch a video before expanding your first peat disk. I completely destroyed one because I did not totally understand what I was supposed to do based on the instruction booklet description.
4) The planting pots are made of I think peat themselves and so don't let them get too wet or they will just crumble apart (happened to my first pot along with it's peat lol)
5) Do not over-water. I was watering daily and noticed those little white fungus patches appearing which indicates over watering and got a couple of ants around so I am now watering every 1.5-2 days when the soil feels fairly dry.

So, all in all, the kit seems to be a great product but just remember not to rush too much into it or you might ruin things early on. The one big downside of the kit is they don't offer extra peat or pots so if you miss up with that stuff at all you'd have to go buy more.

The kit contains everything you need to start bonsai trees. I do recommend getting a bigger pot and replacing the peat soil with akadama soil after the seeds germinated. In my experience, the Picea Abies seeds have the low germination success (1 out of 4 seeds) and Jacaranda Mimosifolia (2 of 6 seeds). The Jacaranda Mimosifolia takes a long time to germinate so be patient with that one. Pinus Arista and Delonix Regia were able to germinate successfully and rapidly although scarification is recommended for Delonix Regia since its shell is extremely hard and waterproof. NONE OF THE SEEDS REQUIRES STRATIFICATION PROCESS. :D Don't expect immediate results and beautiful trees since these are seeds and requires years to grow before training. Overall, a good and well-priced kit for a beautiful ancient art.

Update: 3 months
All the trees are growing nicely. One of the Delonix died, the other is starting to die. Found out they are really sensitive to water and temperature so do not over water it/leave in extreme temps. (The leaves open and close in relation to environmental condition) This has happened before but it came back. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE PEAT SOIL FOR THIS TREE.
The Jacaranda Mimosifolia starts off slow but began to grow really rapidly; main trunk is starting to show signs of barks and hardening.
The remaining pine-like trees are still alive but grows really really slowly, not much noticable growth since one month in.

Followed directions carefully. None of the seeds sank at first except the royal pionecca ones. But 20 hours later most had and i had enough to plant in the 4 pots. The soil disc expanded nicely even though i did not even use 1quart of water like instructed. I just added water slowly until it stopped being absorbed. I have them all planted now. Hoping i don’t get any mold on the soil like some reviews mentioned and fingers crossed they grow. The bonsai stuff doesn’t happen for a few years. It will be interesting to see what happens. I did snip the end off the royal poincennea seeds as i saw that mentioned in a few videos i watched about growing them. Not sure it that was needed but those seeds were very hard so i thought it might help. Good luck!

The first package I received, I was missing one kind of seed so I asked for a replacement. Instead of returning, I ended up giving it to a friend as $15 wasn't all that much to spend for one kit.

I soaked all seeds overnight and then scored half of each kind of seed and left the other half unscored. Planted them on 7/28/23 and today's date and photo is 8/11/23.

I used a spray bottle and misted the soil twice a day.

The royal is doing amazingly and was the first to sprout. I even had to re-pot two of the seeds of the royal in fear that there was overcrowding.

The blue is showing some sprouting and I'm hoping they stay strong and alive.

The other two haven't shown anything yet but I'm hopeful. I live in Northern California, I don't know how much the weather here has an effect on these seedlings.

It will most likely take years for these to look anywhere near what the photos depict but it's a fun and affordable kit.
